Imagine a cruise to Alaska, Europe or the Bahamas where you’re free to explore the ship, dine and dress as you please. Yes, all this is possible with Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL)!
From its inception in 1966, Norwegian Cruise Line has been known for its modern ships, a wide range of dining and entertainment options, and flexible cruising experience. The cruise line currently has 22 ships in its fleet, including its newest ship, the Norwegian Luna, launched in Spring 2026.
If you imagined cruises to come with strict dress codes and schedules, Norwegian Cruise Line’s relaxed approach will be a welcome idea. Cruises with NCL are designed to be different, more than amenities, they’re about living in the moment. You can wander through the ports on your own or join a guided tour. Want to dress up for dinner – great! Prefer eating in flip-flops, that’s fine too. Here’s a quick overview of what you can look forward to.Freestyle Dining
Dining here comes devoid of all precincts, with no fixed timings, seatings or rules related to bookings. If you’re on a 9-night Greek Isle cruise, you could enjoy an elaborate 3-course meal dressed in a T and a pair of shorts. Or, you could grab a burger while walking around the promenade, the choice is yours. Each ship has several world-class restaurants with unique menus designed to impress even the most finicky eater.
Spacious Accommodation
NCL offers a range of accommodations designed specifically to cater to the needs of a discerning traveller. You can book cabins for solo travellers as well as large family suites. Some of the most popular staterooms include the Haven and Spa Staterooms. If you’re travelling with little ones, you’ll be thrilled with their child-friendly amenities.
Outstanding Entertainment
Norwegian Cruise Line is renowned for its Broadway-style productions and world-class performances. There’s live music, comedy shows, acrobatic stunners and so much more. With Freestyle Cruising, guests have the freedom to choose which shows they want to see, and when they want to see them.
Exciting Onboard Activities
Spas, infinity pools, specialty dining venues, and lively bars are just the beginning of what you’ll find aboard NCL ships. The Svedka & Inniskillin Ice Bar is a standout feature of the Breakaway and Epic-class ships. Complete with themed décor and ice sculptures, this arctic chamber offers one of the most unique cruise ship experiences. Then there’s the 44,000-square-foot outdoor promenade on the Prima class ships. The Norwegian Prima and Norwegian Aqua also feature innovative amenities like the Prima Speedway and the Aqua Slidecoaster.
NCL cruises are also famous for their high-energy themed parties, so be sure to pack an outfit that matches the theme for an unforgettable night at sea.
Adventurous Itineraries
Norwegian Cruise Line offers a wide range of itineraries to some of the world's most exciting destinations, including the Caribbean, Alaska, Europe, and beyond. The 9-night Greek Isles cruise on Norwegian Viva is ideal for a Mediterranean Cruise holiday this summer. Or, if you’re looking for a more tropical holiday, how about a weeklong Caribbean cruise on Norwegian Prima. If you’re looking to discover one of the most scenic waterways on the planet, you could consider NCL cruises like the 7-night Alaska voyage on the Norwegian Bliss.
Young Fleet
The NCL fleet has ships across 6 classes; Prima, Breakaway, Dawn, Epic, Jewel and Sun. Of these, the Prima class ships are the latest. NCL has 4 ships currently in this class with the Norwegian Luna being the latest to join the fleet in April this year. The Norwegian Prima launched in 2022 was the first. Her sister ship, Norwegian Viva joined the fleet a year later. 2025 saw the addition of the Norwegian Aqua.
Prima Class ships elevate the cruising experience with wider spaces, stunning designs and newer itineraries. The ships boast of a 360° Ocean Boulevard with infinity pools and outdoor lounges. Guests can choose from up to 13 accommodation categories including the Haven – an exclusive enclave with world-class amenities and 24-hour butler service. The ships also boast of seamless Starlink internet connectivity, Vegas-styled nightclubs, spas and fitness centers, multiple dining options and a wide variety of exciting rides. The Norwegian Aqua’s Slidecoaster is probably the most highly anticipated of them. This hybrid rollercoaster and waterslide is the first of its kind to operate on the seas.
Exciting Deals
Norwegian Cruise Line’s endeavour has always been to encourage cruising while consistently delivering the best in terms of class, service and style. Their one-of-a-kind cruise deals are a strong rebuttal to the myth that ‘cruises are expensive’.
Take the Free At Sea™ cruise package for example. From unlimited cocktails and experiences at NCL’s speciality dining restaurants to excursion credits and free 3rd & 4th guests, this package makes the idea of cruising even more enticing. Traveling in a big group? Book 5 or more cabins on a cruise and you can get great group discounts. On the other hand, if you’re exploring the world on your own, NCL offers attractive single-occupancy cabins with no solo supplement fee.
