MSC Cruises

MSC Cruises, the cruise division of the MSC Group, was founded in 1988 by Gianluigi Aponte, an Italian shipping magnate. Originally a cargo shipping company, the MSC Group ventured into the cruise sector with the acquisition of the liner Monterey. From modest beginnings, the brand has rapidly evolved into one of the world’s largest and most prominent cruise lines, particularly renowned in Europe.

Today, MSC Cruises offers a diverse range of itineraries across the globe, including the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Northern Europe, South America, South Africa, and the Middle East. Guests aboard MSC Cruises can enjoy a wide range of amenities, including international cuisine, Broadway-style entertainment, world-class spa services, family-friendly programs, and the luxurious MSC Yacht Club—a ship-within-a-ship concept that offers a more private, upscale experience. In recent years, MSC has been expanding aggressively, not just in fleet size but also in infrastructure. Notably, the cruise line launched Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, a private island in the Bahamas focused on marine conservation and guest relaxation. Additionally, the brand is making significant investments in the U.S. cruise market, with year-round sailings from New York and Miami.

As of 2025, MSC Cruises is deepening its commitment to sustainability, aiming for net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. With its strong heritage, international appeal, and forward-thinking initiatives, MSC Cruises is positioning itself as a leader in modern cruising while maintaining its Mediterranean roots.

Fellow Passengers: MSC Cruises attracts a diverse mix of passengers, including families, couples, and international travelers seeking stylish ships, global itineraries, value-packed experiences, and a European-inspired onboard ambiance.
